The Homelessness Project: why we're unique

There are many reasons we’re unique, but the two biggest factors are:

1.   Our case manager to client ratio

2.   The dedication and talent of our staff

Most public service and non-profit agencies that work with homeless people are understaffed and overwhelmed. Early on, we made a firm decision to succeed by maintaining a low case manager-to-client ratio, allowing moms to trust us with their goals and giving us the time to help them succeed.

THP maintains a maximum case manager to client ratio of 1:10.

It makes a big difference in the lives of our clients – and in the success of The Homelessness Project.

The second biggest reason for our success is the dedication and talent of our staff.  Each person brings a unique perspective and resources to the THP team. In an environment with a notoriously high turnover rate, the THP staff has a remarkable record of endurance. Our Executive Director has been with the Project since it began in 1989. Our Senior Case Manager has been part of the program since 1992.

Whether it's knowing the best available childcare options or anticipating our client's personal needs, THP's committed staff cares enough to go the extra mile, thereby helping our clients successfully begin again.
