The Homelessness Project: who we serve

Homelessness does not discriminate.  Homeless people come from all faiths & beliefs, and all cultural, academic and employment backgrounds.

Since December 1989, THP has assisted 270 families, including 538 children. In 2004 alone, we supported 76 families who lived in our transitional housing or who moved to their own homes. Of these families:

10% were Caucasian

10% were multiracial

7% were Native America

bullet

6% were Latino

bullet

1% were Pacific Islander

bullet

11% had language barriers and spoke limited or no English

bullet

10% had disabilities including physical illnesses, developmental disabilities, or mobility impairments

They ranged in age from newborn to a 51 year-old grandmother
