Making A Difference: How you can help
You’ve heard it before – we need you!  And this time, it’s no different.  We need you – and your money, and your time, and your household goods and furniture, if you’re willing to part with them.

Here’s your chance to help. You can donate online, mail a donation, volunteer your time or make an in-kind donation.

Just to give you an idea of what your money could do:

$25 will purchase two tanks of gas for a client’s car.

$50 will buy a week’s worth of groceries for a small family.

$200 will purchase 25 “Where to Turn” booklets which each client receives in their client resource notebook.  The booklet lists additional local social service resources.

$540 will provide a year of bus transportation to and from work for a single mom.

$800 will purchase 16 car seats so clients’ children can ride safely to and from school or daycare.

$2160 will pay for 3 cell phones for a year so case managers can stay in touch with clients while away from their desks and can offer use of a phone on weekly visits to clients who can’t afford telephone service.

$5000 will subsidize a single mom and 2 or 3 children for a year in a 2-bedroom apartment in affordable housing in northeast Seattle.  During her stay the mom will have time to upgrade her skills and find a livable-wage job so she can afford to take over the full rent and have a permanent home.

$10,000 will subsidize 2 single moms and their 6 children for a year in 2 separate 2 bedroom apartments in affordable housing.  During this time the women can finish their training programs and find jobs that will allow them to pay the full rent and stay on in their same homes.

$35,000 will pay for a case manager to provide support to 8 homeless families for a year and 8 families that have moved from homelessness into permanent housing.  85% of THP families are able to stabilize their lives and transition into permanent housing of their own, thanks in large part to our dedicated staff.

Or maybe you’d like to volunteer.  We’d love that too.

We can always use an extra pair of hands around the office to help with mailings, data entry and other odd jobs. We can also create opportunities to tutor our clients' kids, or to help new families move into the program.

If you’d like to join our team of volunteers, call us at (206) 525-1213 x4111 or email us at email@thpinfo.org.  We look forward to hearing from you.

We're always looking for in-kind goods!

We’re always on the lookout for new or gently used household items and furniture. As you can imagine, when you have as many homes to stock as we do, you never have enough vacuum cleaners or silverware or plates or beds or…..you get the idea.

Our current wish list includes the following. Please contact us to find out how you can make a donation.
